MULTIPLAYER & CO-OP OVERVIEW

A shared shift starts here.

Yes, Scam With Your Friends supports online co-op. The store lists both friends and public lobbies, and the official Hotfix 2 notes specify lobby sizes of 1–8 players.

What multiplayer is confirmed?

Scam With Your Friends lists online co-op as an official Steam feature, alongside single-player. The store description explicitly mentions public lobbies as well as playing with friends.

  • 1–8 players per lobby

Hotfix 2 states this range and says the lobby limits are enforced. This is a patch-note claim, not a player-count test performed by this site.

How can you join friends?

Scam With Your Friends Hotfix 2 confirms a Join by code option that accepts Steam invite links. It also describes public-lobby filters and a “My version first” sorting option.

These notes establish the available joining methods. They do not document the complete current host-and-invite screen sequence, where a host copies a code, or the exact buttons you will see. We have therefore not published a step-by-step invitation walkthrough.

Check these before a shared session

  • A broadband connection

Broadband internet is an explicit requirement in the Steam minimum specification and the Early Access description.

  • Compatible game versions

Update 0.1.73 adds clearer guidance when a lobby is running a different version. Compare the versions shown in-game and follow that notice if it appears.

  • The official Windows requirements

Compare each PC with the Steam specification. The same 0.1.73 announcement explicitly describes Mac, Linux, CrossOver, Wine, and Proton as currently unsupported.

If you still cannot join

If you cannot join a Scam With Your Friends lobby, use the exact in-game error or version notice as your starting point. The 0.1.73 notes say bug reports can be submitted even when game sign-in is unavailable, and include changes to sign-in guidance.

For current help, check the developer’s Steam discussions and linked announcements. We have not verified a general connection fix, so this page does not prescribe router, firewall, antivirus, or third-party repair changes.

Still missing reliable evidence: the complete current invite flow, a tested host/join walkthrough, and cause-specific fixes for connection errors.
